Mazda has a long history in Australian motorsport and has celebrated many successes over the years at the hand of Mazda Motorsport chief Allan Horsley. These include four consecutive wins at the 12-Hour endurance race with the famed RX-7 SP in the mid 90s.
Today privately owned Mazda cars turn out all over the country in all forms of motorsport with Mazda’s rotary engine remaining the country’s most modified engines for motorsport.
Mazda Motorsport is a regular contender in the gruelling Targa Tasmania rally and has also designed and developed a collection of extreme Mazda cars including the RX-7, MX-5 and RX-8 SP variants.
