What type of fuel does Mazda recommend for its vehicles?

Early model vehicles designed for Leaded fuel can use Regular Unleaded or Premium Unleaded fuel, but must also use a lead replacement additive to prevent valve seat wear. These additives are usually available from your fuel supplier. More information on fuels can be found here.

What are the scheduled service intervals for a Mazda?

Your vehicle must be serviced to Mazda specification and standards every 10,000 kilometres or every six months whichever is sooner. Please consult your Owner's Manual for detailed information on the serving requirements for your Mazda. Theses requirements must be followed to ensure your vehicle continues to operate within specification.

Vehicle servicing is an owner responsibility and failure to maintain your Mazda in accordance with these requirements may void your New Vehicle Warranty. Servicing every six months even though 10,000 kilometres has not been reached ensures that fluids and parts susceptible to deterioration are inspected or replaced to keep your Mazda running as it should. Please note some earlier model Mazdas had service intervals of every six months or 7,500 kilometres and every three months or 5,000 kilometres.

Technologies in our cars

Mazda is constantly researching, evaluating and developing new technologies to further enhance the high levels of comfort, safety, reliability, performance and to reduce the environmental impact of its vehicles. For example, on October 27, 2004, Japan's transport authorities gave Mazda permission to Road Test a hydrogen-fuelled version of its Rotary engine RX-8. This unique vehicle features a dual-fuel system that allows the driver to select either Hydrogen or Petrol power at the flick of a switch. This has been achieved without loss of interior space for four passengers. Please visit the technology page for more.
