2025 Mazda CX-60: What the press have to say
継続的改善 (Keizokuteki‐kaizen). It means ‘continuous improvement’ in Japanese, and it’s a mantra that applies to everything at Mazda, from the commitment to improving the safety of its vehicles to the ongoing dedication to a ‘one size fits one’ customer service approach and much, much more.
The latest beneficiary of this forward thinking is the 2025 Mazda CX-60. Having launched in 2022 with a series of firsts for the brand – the introduction of a PHEV, inline six petrol and diesel engines with 48V mild hybrid technology, and rear-biased AWD – the model takes another step forward with a series of updates that make it an even more compelling proposition in the midsize SUV segment.
Mazda’s focus on Jinba Ittai is further honed through chassis revisions that include rear suspension set-up changes to enhance comfort and stability, while transmission calibrations now result in even smoother and more responsive shifts.
In addition to two new model variants and more standard equipment across the range than before, the price has also significantly dropped, making the CX-60 even more accessible and appealing.
To test the efficacy of these running changes, Australia’s key automotive media were invited to sample the range back-to-back and feel the exact differences in real time compared to the outgoing model at one of the country’s most iconic testing facilities, Lang Lang Proving Ground.
Here's what the motoring media had to say about the 2025 Mazda CX-60:
“It fulfils the promise of its sophisticated specification, builds on the extensive dynamic abilities of previous models, and now provides a compelling – and unique – choice for medium-SUV buyers who do not need an extended seven-seater” – Carsguide
“The CX-60 is now more comfortable, more refined, smoother around town, and more affordable – all improvements that make it a more appealing option in the brimming mid-size SUV market” – CarExpert

+2+3
“If we're to judge the revised CX-60 on whether it's better than the model it replaces, it's unquestionably a superior car… There's little doubt that the Mazda CX-60 is an attractive, stylish, and elegant SUV in a class that often lacks such panache” – Drive
“You’re getting a big car, a big six-cylinder for what you might pay for a smaller 4-cylinder vehicle from some rival manufacturers” – Chasing Cars
