All-Electric Mazda 6e Launches in Australia with Sharp Pricing and Extensive Equipment

Mazda’s first mainstream electric vehicle, the Mazda 6e, is today available for pre-order at Mazda dealers across Australia offering cutting-edge technology, sophisticated styling and exceptional value for money for Australian customers.

Ushering in the next evolution of Mazda’s signature design philosophy, “Kodo: Soul of Motion”, the Mazda 6e adopts an ‘Authentic Modern’ approach featuring smooth and flowing lines that give it a striking, yet sophisticated presence. The long roofline and short-deck coupé silhouette create an athletic look, while maintaining the functionality of a five-door hatchback.

Perched on a generously sized 2,895mm wheelbase, the Mazda 6e’s minimalist five-seat cabin is open and inviting, heavily influenced by the Japanese concept of “ma” – the beauty of empty space. The seamless integration of advanced technologies and Mazda’s signature craftsmanship enhance the driving experience, while making all occupants feel at ease.

The Mazda 6e will exclusively offer a RWD electric motor, that delivers up to190 kW of power and a maximum of 290 Nm of torque. The system offers a frugal combined energy consumption of 15.9kWh/100km, and boasts a WLTP driving range of up to 560 km from the 78 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery.

Equipped with a CCS Type-2 charging port, the Mazda 6e is capable of DC charging from 30 – 80 percent in as little as fifteen minutes.

The All-Electric Mazda 6e is offered in two generously equipped model grades; comprising GT and the flagship Atenza, both of which offer an irrefutable value proposition.

All-Electric Mazda 6e Specifications

Premiering across both grades of the Mazda 6e is the all-new “Mazda 6e” app, placing convenience and peace of mind directly into the hands of owners and provides a host of features. These include a Bluetooth key - a feature that debuts for the brand on the Mazda 6e - along with the added convenience of being able to control the climate control, door locking/unlocking and windows all from the comfort of their palm.

A comprehensive suite of safety technologies are standard on the Mazda 6e including Smart Brake Support for turning across traffic with pedestrian and cyclist detection, as well as Front and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. An intuitive Driver Monitoring system is also equipped, focusing on unobtrusive yet thorough monitoring.

A carefully curated palette of seven sophisticated colours is available to choose from including a premium paint selection of Soul Red Crystal Metallic, Machine Grey Metallic and Polymetal Grey Metallic. Crystal White Pearl, Deep Crystal Blue Mica, Jet Black Mica and Aero Grey Metallic complete the range.

Welcoming Mazda’s first mainstream electric vehicle, Vinesh Bhindi, Managing Director of Mazda Australia, said: “The Mazda 6e switches Zoom-Zoom on to a fully electric era, introducing Mazda’s next iteration of unmistakable Kodo design, acclaimed Jinba-Ittai driving dynamics and host of cutting edge-technologies.

“Not only does it offer our signature design, craftsmanship and meticulously tuned driving performance, it’s backed by the exceptional support and service standards of an established dealer network totalling almost 150 locations across Australia.”
